TV Repair Tips
Your TV turns on but the screen remains black? Is the image very dim or flickering at times? These symptoms often indicate a problem with the LED backlight. Here are some simple tips to identify the fault, find compatible parts, and effectively repair your TV.
🔍 1. Diagnose the breakdown
- Sound present but black screen: LED backlight failure.
- Faint image visible with a flashlight: Defective LEDs.
- Screen turns off after a few seconds: A faulty LED strip.
Tip: Shine a flashlight on the screen from about 5 cm away. If you see the image faintly, the issue is indeed with the backlight.
🧾 2. Identify your LED strips
- Note the full reference of your TV (e.g., LG 55UJ620V or Samsung UE40H6200).
- Locate the panel reference (e.g., LC550EGY – V400HJ6).
- Note the reference on the bars (e.g., SSC_Y21 – BN96 – 303 mm).
With this information, choose a compatible kit from our selection of TV LED strips.
⚙️ 3. Other possible breakdowns
- Power board: TV completely off, standby LED absent → check fuses and capacitors.
- Main board: TV on but no picture or sound → secondary power supply or video processor faulty.
- T-CON board: sound OK, grey screen or lines → faulty ribbon cable or T-CON board.
